First research award for fluid mechanics was donated by DGLR-STAB

STAB research award
The working committee of fluid mechanics, STAB (a network of competence by DGLR) has offered a research award for the first time this year sponsored by Airbus and the German Aerospace Center. One of the two awardees is the group of Dr. rer. nat. Andreas Schröder and Dr. rer. nat. Reinhard Geisler from DLR Goettingen, Dr. ir. Gerrit E. Elsinga and Prof. Dr. eng. Fulvio Scarano, both from TU Delft as well as Dipl. phys. Uwe Dierksheide from LaVision. They were recognized for their research titled „Investigation of a turbulent spot using time-resolved tomographic PIV“ in the field of experimental fluid mechanics and development of measurement instrumentation. The award ceremony took place during the evening event of the STAB symposium in Berlin at November, 9th, directed by the representatives of the STAB committee Dr. G. Heller, Prof. A. Dillmann and Prof. W. Nitsche.
